Black Dog Therapy was established in 2018 by Kate Choppen, a Clinical Hypnotherapist, mental health practitioner and Occupational Therapist.


Kate worked in the NHS for 16 years and has developed her own unique way of blending her skills and techniques to meet her clients exactly where they are. Non-judgmental, approachable and empathetic, Kate will allow you to explore your experiences in a safe, supported way, before expertly guiding you to make deep and meaningful changes to how you think, feel and respond.

Luke is a Hypnotist, NLP practitioner and Emotional Freedom Technique Practitioner (tapping).


After years of struggling with anxiety, Luke finally began his own journey into self-help and the world of therapy. It has been a liberating experience for Luke, who describes his transformation as  "a weight being lifted off my shoulders. I feel like a new person, I walk that little taller, I have a deeper love for my family and I feel like I smile from my very soul every day. I really want to help other people feel the same".
